There’s something for everyone at the German American Societies of San Diego. Attend an event, become a member, or join an activity group.

Everyone is welcome. Let us share some Gemütlichkeit with you!

WILLKOMMEN! ES IST SCHÖN, SIE KENNENZULERNEN.

Welcome, it’s nice to meet you! You’ve found the online home of the San Diego German American Society. We celebrate German culture and its many colorful traditions through a variety of activities, year-round. Seasonal events are open to people of all ages and interests.

If you are musically or artistically inclined, check out our Germania Blaskapelle house band. If the stage feels like home, try our German Theater Group. Our KinderTanzGruppe and BoogieTanz dance groups meet year-round to practice routines they perform at a variety of events. Those with good aim take part in our Schützenverein program (competitive air rifle shooting) and socialites enjoy getting together for our Damenkreis (ladies circle) for luncheons, crafting and game nights – or meetings of the Skat Club (traditional card game). Occasional German Study Groups provide language lessons for speakers of different skill levels. Karneval is one our wildest groups with music, dancing, skits, and a full season of fun theme events.

If you enjoy giving back to the community, we encourage you to join our Tuesday work crew or another Volunteer Meetup; these stewards keep the club running by assisting with everything from general maintenance, painting and cleaning to cooking, decorating and planning events like Maifest, Weihnachtsmarkt and Oktoberfest.
